Fibre
Counting

Independent verification to ensure that the highest possible standards are met.

As a requirement of CAR 2012 it is essential that any Company carrying out any air testing or fibre counting involving asbestos will need to be accredited to ISO 17025 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).  EML is accredited to this standard to cover all aspects of asbestos in air monitoring and includes:

  • Smoke Testing
  • Leakage monitoring
  • Personal air monitoring
  • Background/Occupational monitoring
  • Reassurance air monitoring
  • Four stage clearance procedures including issuing a Certificate of Reoccupation (COR).
  • Hygiene Unit Clearance

Air monitoring is a legal requirement following any removal of licensable asbestos materials and prior to any reoccupation of a building.

EML will offer independent verification to ensure that the high standards demanded by the HSE and the accredited body UKAS are adhered to and only after a thorough visual examination of the area within the enclosure has been completed to the satisfaction of the analyst, will disturbed air testing take place to ensure compliance within the clearance indicator level.
